- Concept -
SimSummit is an occasional forum – kept relatively
informal by mutual agreement - of organizations with broad
interest in M&S technology, professional development,
industry and market.
- Participation -
Organizational membership includes Government, Commercial,
Academic and Professional organizations. Members are
expected to conform to established membership criteria. Membership
is initiated
by an official expression of interest by the applicant organization,
indicating its role in the M&S community-of-practice
and its interest in participating in the SimSummit forum.
Acceptance of the organization as a member of the forum is
by consensus of existing member organizations as determined
by the Executive Committee.
- Leadership – Leadership
coordination is provided by an Executive Committee, populated
by the senior executives of the three original sponsoring
organizations, plus one ad hoc member. Current members of
the SimSummit Executive Committee are:
- RADM
Fred Lewis (USN Ret.) – Director, National Training
Systems
Association (NTSA) flewis@ndia.org
- Warren
katz – Chairman, Executive Committee of the Simulation
interoperability Standards Organization (SISO) katz@mak.com
- Dr.
Francoise Cellier, President, the Society for Modeling
and Simulation
International [SCS] cellier@ece.arizona.edu,
and
- Bill
Waite, President The AEgis Technologies Group, Inc.
Bwaite@AEgisTG.com
- Management – Management
decisions and direction are performed by the organizational
membership at large operating as the Committee-of-the-whole,
assuming a protocol of one-organization-one vote, and striving
whenever possible for unanimous consensus.
-
Functional
Operations – General and administrative
operations are performed by the Executive Committee.
Direct operations are routinely performed by the SimSummit
member organizations structured as a “committee-of-the-whole”.
Occasional services are provided to the SimSummit collective
by one or more of the participating member organizations
on an “as-needed” basis.
-
Product
Generation – Product generation results from the
efforts of the executive Committee in executing one or
another general and administrative function; by the Committee-of-the-whole
in participating in events; or by one or another member organization
in executing particular activities. Products and other useful information
assets are posted to the web site as appropriate.
